Downtown Kennewick Studio closes, production team relocates
Occupied by NFN for 5 years in the Downtown Kennewick, WA district (322 W. Kennewick Ave.), Majestic served as an incubator for a handful of artists and musicians. Initially slated to operate as a “doors open” business, the management team redirected focus to a guild-like environment in the second year shortly after construction reached completion. The private nature of the occupants created interest in onlookers; people passing by often commented, “the town needs this”. In addition to the Bossalaus affiliates (Lotus, 509 Wreckerz, Firefrost), bands such as Choice Fatal, Folding In and All Gussied Up recorded material within Majestic’s walls. Photo and video productions were a staple, with local projects including Laci (Walden) Taylor, Rebecca Muse, Luz Herrera, Chrystal Kruska, & Alyona. Though there were moderately sized gatherings on many occasions, the Mighty Mixtape 1: Launch Party was the highlight event from the half-decade journey of the “Majesticans”. We have posted a slide show for your enjoyment. If you have any pictures or video from Majestic that you would like to share, please leave a comment below.
